Welcome to Building Blocks for Pre-K–5

Here in the United States we are living and learning to adapt at home, school, work, and in the community in the wake of a global pandemic. Social distancing, face masks, handwashing, cleaning, and disinfecting have become extremely important and something that we have begun to do in an almost automatic fashion.

Vocabulary refers to all the language and words that an individual can understand. Vocabulary words are used in everyday communications and focus on 4 areas: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.  

The following are some of the most frequently asked questions that have come up throughout the trainings.

Young children learn new literacy skills through play, exploration, observation, and by listening and speaking.
