Biography
Jennifer Raskay is a Colorado native who attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, earning a BA in English and Elementary Education. She is a former 3rd and 4th grade teacher with experience in working with children of all ability levels and from a variety of backgrounds. She also has experience in working with children with special needs and is eager to teach and compassionate towards those who need extra assistance making learning connections, especially through writing. Jennifer is also enthusiastic about teaching young writers and has implemented lessons for 3.5 to 5 year old learners. Jennifer also enjoys individual tutoring for elementary-age students and works with parents to evaluate problems and provide remediation through tutoring students ages 6 to 12. Teaching cursive handwriting is another one of Jennifer's interests, and she has successfully taught this almost "lost art" to dozens of students over the past 14 years. Jennifer believes in providing a solid beginning to promote lifelong writing and has taught nearly 400 students using the LWT methods since 2010. Her philosophy is best summed up in this equation: Creative ideas + Legible Writing = Quality work and a confident student.
