Learning Without Tears included ch and ll in our 2008 Edition Spanish student editions. However, there were many challenges to the inclusion of ch and ll. Concerned customers mentioned that the Spanish Royal Academy had excluded ch and ll and Spanish dictionaries were adjusted excluding those combinations as alphabet letters. The conclusion of the Spanish Royal Academy in 2010 was that ch and ll are digraphs and not alphabet letters. In the 2013 and 2018 Edition Spanish student editions, LWT decided that it was appropriate to align with the alphabet approved by the Spanish Royal Academy. This issue provides a very interesting teaching opportunity for our Spanish students, so we are providing Spanish letter pages for ch and ll for customers who are interested in including those letters in their instruction.
